Position Summary:
The Brake Shop Executive is responsible for supervising and coordinating all operations within the Brake Section to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and approved technical data. This role involves effective management of resources, equipment, and personnel to maintain high standards of serviceability, cleanliness, and turnaround time (TAT). The Executive plays a key role in quality assurance, safety oversight, and interdepartmental communication to support efficient workshop operations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and oversee all brake maintenance activities to ensure compliance with the latest Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), engineering instructions, and approved technical data.
- Plan and allocate manpower effectively within the Brake Section to meet workload demands and achieve turnaround time (TAT) targets.
- Monitor and maintain tools, equipment, and facilities, ensuring all items are serviceable, calibrated, and properly used according to standards.
- Initiate and manage requisitions for spare parts, hardware, and consumables, ensuring only approved materials are used and stored per manufacturer and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain current technical publications, manuals, and engineering drawings, ensuring accessibility to technicians at all times.
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety inspections.
- Coordinate with Planning, Logistics, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of maintenance tasks.
- Review and verify maintenance records, task cards, and inspection documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate technical staff performance, promoting continuous improvement and high-quality workmanship.
- Report significant findings or issues to the Workshop Manager and participate in investigations or corrective actions when necessary.
Special Skills and Requirements Needed:
- Strong knowledge of aircraft brake systems and maintenance procedures in accordance with CMMs and aviation regulations (EASA, CAAT, FAA).
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills in a technical or maintenance environment.
- Good understanding of safety standards, quality control, and documentation practices.
- Proficiency in reading technical manuals and using computer applications such as MS Office and maintenance systems.
Academic Qualification Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Additional certifications in aircraft component maintenance or quality systems (e.g., EASA Part-145, CAAT approval) are an advantage.
- Formal training in human factors, safety, or aviation maintenance practices is desirable.
