Position Summary:
The Wheel Shop Executive is responsible for managing and overseeing the operations of the Component/Wheel Shop in compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. This includes ensuring the serviceability and proper maintenance of tools and equipment, managing safety and fire protection measures, maintaining technical publications, and coordinating manpower to ensure timely, high-quality maintenance and repair activities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform testing, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and assembly on aircraft components for various aircraft models.
- Conduct analytical inspections using the latest inspection tooling as well as visual inspection guides.
- Carry out maintenance and repair using chemicals, tools, and equipment such as hand finishing, painting, or cutting on aerospace parts and assemblies in accordance with CMM, SRM, Engineering Instructions, and approved technical data.
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation in a timely manner after each task is completed.
- Read, interpret, and properly employ technical manuals and mechanical drawings.
- Perform daily tooling checks and preventative maintenance on responsible equipment, toolboxes, chemical cabinets, and machines.
- Record maintenance actions in AMOS from work packages and scheduled tasks (WO/WP).
- Plan and manage manpower to maintain workload effectiveness.
Special Skills and Requirements Needed:
- Able to read, interpret, and understand drawings, SMR, CMM, IPC, manuals, and specifications.
- Capable of performing testing, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and assembly on aircraft components for various aircraft models.
- Able to complete all required paperwork and documentation in a timely manner after each task is completed.
- Possess five (5) years of relevant work experience, of which at least two (2) years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position.
- Hold a relevant engineering degree or aircraft maintenance technician qualification; alternatively, five (5) years of additional experience may substitute for formal education, provided it covers an appropriate combination of tasks related to aircraft maintenance, continuing airworthiness management, and/or the surveillance of such tasks.
Academic Qualification Requirements:
- Graduated from an aeronautical technical university/college, or from a technical university/college with basic aeronautical technical training; Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Previous experience managing small internal workshop teams, ensuring that all planned and unplanned maintenance activities are coordinated and executed to the required standard and within agreed company maintenance schedules.
- Ability to manage and continuously develop risk assessments, ensuring all staff clearly understand operational and safety expectations.
- Good English communication skills with an Aircraft Engineering background.
- Standard computer literacy.
