Position Summary:
The Security Technical Officer assists the Security Compliance Executive by managing incident reporting, supporting investigations, and analyzing recurring threats. This role is focused on monitoring security cases, conducting root cause analysis, and tracking implementation of corrective actions to support continuous improvement in the airline’s security posture.
Job Descriptions:
Security Incident Reporting and Support

  • Assist in compiling documentation and relevant evidence related to incidents of unlawful interference or other security-related events in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist in the investigation of security threats, breaches, or failures in control implementation.
  • Gather and analyze relevant data to support root cause analysis and development of corrective actions.
  • Coordinate responses and submit documentation to regulatory authorities related to security incidents or case follow-ups, for example report on act of unlawful interference (AUI) to CAAT.

Incident Analysis and Corrective Measures

  • Analyze incident trends and identify recurring threats or vulnerabilities across operations.
  • Recommend and monitor the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Prepare detailed and professional reports outlining investigation findings and proposed security enhancements.

Security Case and Data Handling

  • Maintain a centralized and secure database of all security cases, including incident details, root causes, actions taken, and outcomes.
  • Track the status of ongoing investigations and ensure follow-up actions are completed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Develop statistical summaries and visualized data trends to support continuous improvement in security performance.

Technical Documentation and Compliance

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, alongside the Security Compliance and Security Operations teams, in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process flows to ensure alignment with established security best practices.
  • Provide technical support and documentation during internal and external investigations, audits, or regulatory inquiries.
  • Support the development and review of technical security procedures, guidelines, and operational best practices.
  • Monitor and review internal security reports for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with procedural standards.
  • Conduct initial and periodic comprehensive audits or inspections of operating stations to verify compliance with aviation security requirements (if certified as Internal Security Auditor).
  • Assist in security tests and validation exercises for Thai VietJet Air’s securityrelated functions.
  • Participate in security exercises jointly organized with the Safety Division and relevant departments.

Legal and Regulatory Coordination

  • Submit fine payments and related documentation to the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) for individuals who have been penalized for violations under the Act on Certain Offences Against Air Navigation and distribute fine payment receipts to the individuals.
  • Ensure proper record retention and confidentiality of all legal or regulatory correspondence and actions.

General Responsibilities

  • Provide support and cooperation during company events, special operations, or regulatory reviews.
  • Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned by the Security Compliance Executive or Security Manager in support of broader security objectives.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field or Aviation Security, Security Management, Criminology, Political Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in aviation or corporate security
  • Direct experience in incident management, investigations, or aviation threat analysis is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of aviation security threats, protocols, and regulatory frameworks
  • Strong investigative and analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and propose mitigation strategies
  • Proficient in preparing technical reports, incident documentation, and data analysis
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data management systems
  • Excellent communication skills in both Thai and English, written and verbal
  • Training in aviation security operations, internal investigations, or safety management systems (SMS) is advantageous.
  • Internal Security Auditor certification (if applicable) is a plus.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and within multidisciplinary teams
